There is a planning application on Richmond Council's planning site for the demolition of the 'Laboratory of the Government Chemist' buildings (LGC) off Queens Road. The application has an extension to 7 November 2026 and at the moment comments are still open.

The demolition will take place over a 12 week period. Planned working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30 and Saturday 08.00-13.00 when required. There are approximately 150 estimated vehicle movements over the 12 weeks including 30 ton and 80 ton vehicles. The traffic management plan can be found in the application.
