Walks
Teddington is the place we all love, and love to live in – but how much do we really know about its history and its hidden gems?
You can now find out, thanks to some self-guided walks round the town and the wider area. The first two walks were put together by Jenny Michell, a long-time member of the Society, who’s a keen walker and cyclist herself. “Neither has to be done in one go” she says. “Both can be done in stages, entirely at your own pace. Their main purpose is to point out Teddington’s features of interest, so that the walker gets even more pleasure out of the town we all love.”
Take a walk round Teddington - with a fresh pair of eyes
Our first walk begins at the parish church of St Mary with St Alban, and takes us along the High Street and across to the railway station and back.
Take another walk round Teddington
Our second walk begins at the Ferry Road traffic lights near the river, and takes us through the Grove Estate, along to Teddington Lock, past the new Riverside development and on to The Lensbury, pointing out interesting and surprising features and facts on the way.
