What we do:
Imagine a clean and vibrant Teddington riverside, a haven for people, plants, and wildlife. That's the vision we share at the Riverside and Open Spaces Group.
We advocate for the protection and enhancement of Teddington's riverside and open spaces, ensuring this valuable asset remains a source of pride for our community and visitors.
Working Together for a Cleaner, Greener Teddington
Regular litter picks keep our riverside clean and welcoming, while collaboration with the council ensures prompt action on reported issues like dumping and safety concerns. We also champion the interests of wildlife by liaising with other groups to protect trees and habitats.
Our commitment extends beyond clean-up. We actively participate in discussions on projects like the Thames Water Teddington extraction and recycling scheme to ensure responsible water management. We also review flood prevention measures that prioritize both safety and can impact the natural beauty of the riverside and affect historic structures in our area.
Making a Difference, One Project at a Time
The Riverside and Open Spaces Group is actively working for the community. We've secured funding for new benches and planters, contributing to a more enjoyable riverside and community experience.

Save Our Lands and River (SOLAR) are leading the opposition to the TDRA - see here for their views. SOLAR do not advise using the TW feedback questionnaire as it does not give people a chance to reject the scheme overall. Rather, they suggest responding by email or post. Alternatively, you can pick up a SOLAR postcard objecting to the option TW have chosen. They are available from various local locations including The Anglers pub and the Flying Cloud Café at Teddington Lock. All you need to do is add your name and postcode on the postcard and drop it in a post box.
