New Website for the Teddington Society

As you can see, we have upgraded the Teddington Society website.  We hope you like it.

The old site was set up over 10 years ago and at the time it suited our needs very well.  It provided information on activities of the Society and forthcoming events.  It described the activities and achievements of our Working Groups.  It encouraged new members to join and it gave access to our many publications.

But a couple of recent developments have made it imperative for us to have a completely new web site.

  • The rise in the use of mobile phones means that we need a website that looks good both on a phone and on a regular computer screen.

  • At the same time we have decided to have a unified theme, or “rebranding”, across all of the Teddington Society documentation – posters, leaflets, correspondence, magazine and website.

You will see this branding in this web page – particularly the new swan logo and the use of the main foreground and background colours for most of the text, green, dark blue, grey and white.  We think this gives a more modern appearance and we have also made the site more readable and easier to navigate and explore.

The technology behind the new website is easier to use than the old and so it will be maintained and kept up to date by a small team of people. We would therefore encourage you to visit it frequently to see what is going on in the Teddington Society.
