Udney Park Playing Fields

There are further developments in the long running saga about the fate of the Playing Fields.

The Teddington Society reapplied for Asset of Community Value status for Udney Park Playing Fields in 2023. This means that if the property is put up for sale a verified local community interest group is allowed a time window to make a bid on the property.

The owners of Udney Park Playing Fields have now notified Richmond Council of their intention to sell the Playing Fields. This has triggered a six-week moratorium period, ending on 11 June 2025. During this period, a community interest group can notify the Council of their intention to bid for the playing fields, which will then trigger a six-month moratorium period during which the owners may only sell to a community interest group. The owner has 18 months in total to dispose of the property before the Asset of Community Value status is reapplied.
