Final Push for Higher Sewage Treatment Standards Petition

Local campaign group SOLAR (Save Our Lands And River), has entered its final month petitioning the government for a parliamentary debate on higher-standard sewage treatment.

The petition calls for new sewage infrastructures to meet higher standards, already used in the EU, along with tougher controls on emerging pollutants such as forever chemicals and micropollutants. This push comes as the government is considering new water-sector legislation, making public pressure especially timely.
