Hospital Revamp: Praise for Society

Teddington’s Memorial Hospital has a revamped waiting area and treatment room for children and teenagers - thanks partly to the Teddington Society.

At the official opening on 15 November, local MP Munira Wilson offered her ‘heartfelt thanks to all those who made it possible, including …the Teddington Society.’ She said ‘so many children (mine included) have benefited from the wonderful care ‘ at the hospital.

The Rev. Simon Douglas Lane, chairman of the hospital’s League of Friends, also thanked the Society ‘for their generous contribution to the project’. He said ‘their support … made this transformation possible, allowing us to donate £11,000 to create a brighter, more comfortable and child-friendly space for our youngest patients and their families.’

The upgrades include a more decorative and child-friendly waiting area, consultation room and treatment room, as well as a refurbished garden and outdoor seating area. These should enhance comfort, reduce anxiety and aid recovery.
